The scene is set in the village hall for our Christmas party. Tables beautifully dressed by our craft team, hall decorations made by Ann O Brien and music provided by committee members. We were ready to party.
Joan Blackshaw our retiring president welcomed 60 members to our party night. This was followed by a wonderful buffet prepared by County Kitchens.
Two retiring committee members were thanked for their hard work and commitment over the years they had served and Chris Jones presented gifts to them.
Last year our Christmas Party was forced to take a different format due to the village hall refurbishment and this proved to be most enjoyable. A similar approach was taken this year and once more the committee provided the entertainment. Christmas quizzes, pass the parcel, feely bags and a photo competition which provided lots of fun and discussion.

Our meeting came to a close with our members singing a few Christmas carols, during which a gift was given to our members. This gift was made by our craft group which is lead by Annette Minor. The closing carol was the 12 days of Christmas with appropriate actions. Some actions definitely missing. A good end to the evening and more practice needed for next year. Watch this space.
