The Blakemere Trail is described as a “shady walk for wildlife lovers”. This proved to be an ideal place for 11 of The Whitley Walking Warriors to go for a February Winter walk, or should they all “Go Ape”?  Another time maybe!
The weather was perfect, dry and still…. If it had been summer it would have been described as “balmy”.

Walking through the forest of leafless mature trees, it was a pleasure to admire the view of Blakemere Moss in the winter sunshine.

There was peace and quiet, away from the madding crowd, as well as happy chatter and Werther’s (with creamy filling) sustenance along the way.

Chris and Ann found an old friend who gave them a huge bear-hug.

So a well-earned lunch to be enjoyed in the Delamere Café at the Linmere Visitor Centre. The Paninis are highly recommended, as well as the huge ice cream enjoyed by one member.

Thank You to Ann the leader for sourcing this walk and for time spent checking it out on behalf of the WI.
