LANCASTER in MAY

Lancaster Castle came under Royal control in 1164. Today in 2016, it was invaded by Whitley WI. Half the group were locked in the cells, only to be released following a full rendering of “Jerusalem”. A very informative guided tour of this iconic building. The sun shone and a fitting end was to visit the Ashton Memorial with extensive views over Morecambe Bay, including the iconic butterfly house.
