Book Club – Social and planning
Meet at Helen's. We have decided not to have a specific book to read this month but to give more time for finalising the selection of books we would like to read in 2021 and making suggestions for further reading. We also thought it would be nice to have a social time and a chance to see if we needed to make any changes to the way we run the Book Club.

Whitley WI Christmas party
It's party time! Our Christmas party is being held on Thursday 10th December at 7.30pm on zoom. Resolutions meeting by zoom
Details of the proposed shortlist of resolutions were published in the November/December issue of WI Life. The topics covered are: awareness of ovarian cancer, premature death due to coronary heart disease, racism and discrimination, creating wildlife friendly communities and stopping the destruction of peat bogs. We would normally discuss these at our January meeting and ask members to vote for two resolutions to go forward to the Annual General meeting. On Wednesday the 13th January at 7pm for a 7.30pm start we have the pleasure in welcoming Clare Pooley. Clare graduated from Newnham College, Cambridge and spent twenty years in the heady world of advertising before becoming a full-time mum. Realising that her ‘wine o’clock’ habit had spiralled out of control, Clare started writing a blog, Mummy was a Secret Drinker, which has had nearly three million hits. Her memoir, The Sober Diaries was published in 2017 to critical acclaim. …
